The Assistant Manager’s primary duty is the management of the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure the overall goal of outstanding guest service. The Assistant Manager manages the day-to-day activities of Shift Leaders and other hourly staff. In the absence of the General Manager, the Assistant Manager is the highest-ranking member of the management team in the restaurant and had direct responsibility for overseeing the financial results, operations, staff development, customer service and compliance with all Company policies, procedures, standards, and specifications.

A Team Member will train in various positions in Front of House and Back of House and have the ability to fill in at any position. After training, your manager will place you in a more defined position that best suits your skills and abilities as well as the needs of the restaurant.

Various positions within Front of House and Back of House are cashier/runner, drive-thru, and expo (expeditor).

Our great tasting food begins with the cook. This position is critical to our success and requires specific skills from the Team Member.

Similar to the cashier/runner, drive thru Team Members also deal directly with the Guest providing great Guest service in a drive thru environment can be challenging so this position is usually given to front of the house Team Members who have excelled in their current position. The drive thru Cashier will often work in tandem with the FOH to perform all FOH duties.

Expo, short for expediter, is the heart of the restaurant. It is from this station that every order is prepared and sent to the Guest. The expo Team Members are peer leaders so in addition to the required skills, they must also possess skills and abilities necessary to effectively lead others.

The cashier/runner serves as the face of Slim Chickens. They make that critical first and last impression with the Guests. They are the ones that must create the welcoming atmosphere that Guests will associate with Slim Chickens.
